I’ve always wanted to see a homegrown
etsy, where you can easily
order handmade, beautifully crafted things, but looks like for now,
we have to rely on sporadic artist’s bazaars for our craft-y fix.

My aunt recently received a gift from her grandson, a lovely envelope
and stationery set made of woven magazines. Now I know you’re probably
over the eco-friendly woven-magazine-item bit, but this was different
—the strips were finer, the weaving more intricate and delicate, and
neater, so the envelope was slimmer. I found out it was from
Indie Art and Brown Label, a group that designs and makes beautiful,
handmade things, mostly stationery sets and desk accessories made
out of recycled magazines and newspapers.
Best of all, it’s Philippine-made!
